Dr. Caitlin Wolford-Clevenger (she/her/hers)

I am a Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. My research interests broadly involve understanding and preventing harmful and risky behaviors, including suicide, self-harm, substance use, and HIV risk behaviors. My work also focuses on the effects of trauma on these behaviors, particularly among underrepresented and underserved communities including gender minorities.

Adam Maughan (he/him/his)

Adam Maughan [he/him/his] is a doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  Prior to his graduate coursework, he attended Utah State University where he earned Bachelor’s degrees in English and Psychology.  While at Utah State, he also had the opportunity to intern for the Access and Diversity Center (now the Inclusion Center) assisting in programming for LGBTQ+ students and allies.  Adam served as the secretary for Circling the Wagons, an organization based in Salt Lake City which focused on difficult dialogues between members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the LGBTQ+ community.  His current research interests include mental health and well-being among religious sexual minorities, the process and outcomes of intergroup dialogue, suicide prevention, as well as access to and quality of mental health services for sexual minorities.

Sarah Stambaugh

Sarah Stambaugh (she/her/hers)

Sarah Stambaugh (she/her/hers) is a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. As an undergrad majoring in psychology and minoring in English, she was a longtime research assistant and lab manager, with research primarily focusing on social justice. She held leadership positions as vice president of three different organizations, including Psi Chi Honor Society, and volunteered regularly for the Contact Care crisis line. Sarah hopes to attend a doctoral psychology program in the near future, and is currently working as a crisis specialist for the National Suicide Prevention Line. She has also continued research as a post grad, specifically in areas related to suicidality and social justice. She is passionate about continuing her work in these areas well into the future.
