Internship

This course comprises one-half of a two-semester internship requirement of the M.A. in Counseling at UND. Students meet weekly in small-group supervision seminars in conjunction with their ongoing work as a counseling intern outside of the academic department in the community. This course serves a capstone applied counseling experience in preparation for students to engage in post-graduate work in their chosen counseling emphasis.

Students are expected to (1) attend 20-40 hours of clinical work on-site per week, (2) attend regular weekly supervision and bring audio and video tape evidence of their progress with clients, (3) complete one informal case presentations, one formal presentation, and one case video, (4) complete self-assessments and receive feedback from multiple supervisors, (5) attend professional development training activities outside of class, and (6) provide evidence of their case notes and client documentation
