Welcome!

Dr. Keri A. Frantell [she/her/hers], faculty in Counseling Psychology at the University of North Dakota, leads the STORIES for EQUITY research lab. As a research team, we focus on Social Transformation, Outreach, Research, & Intersectional Education about Suicide, Empowering Queer & Underrepresented Identities, & Therapy for Young people.

We believe in providing space to have difficult conversations and to give voice to those who are often marginalized by systems of oppression.

We believe people are the experts on their own lives, and should be given space and opportunity to share their stories.

We seek to integrate the core aspects of counseling and counseling psychology identities (research, education, therapy, outreach, and advocacy).  We also believe that science is for everyone, and we are committed to sharing our research with clinicians and the public.

We believe that we can (and should) use our research to pursue greater equity for all.

Check out the Take Action! page for op-eds, white papers, and informatoin about how to advocate for change.

You can follow the lab on Instagram: @storiesforequity and on Twitter: @stories4equity for information and engagement around having difficult dialogues, suicide prevention, and LGBTQ+ mental health.
